Q: Where may I drive my Rental Car?
A: Rental Cars are authorised anywhere in St. Maarten/St. Martin, we drive on the right hand side of the road.

Q: Can anybody else drive my rental car?
A: Yes, provided that he/she meets all rental requirements, and is listed on your Rental Agreement.

Q: What if my departure flight is prior to the opening of the Car Rental Office?
A: Upon rental, return arrangements will be made. We may arrange to have you leave the car at our Office, at your Hotel, or at the Airport, whichever is most convenient for you. Please ensure to wait for our rental agent to come and check the Car to avoid any misunderstandings.  

Q: Are the cars air conditioned?
Yes! All of our cars are fully air conditioned.

Q: Are your cars equipped with seatbelts?
A: Yes. All of our cars have front and back seatbelts.

Q: What are the additional services provided by Empress apart from the Car?
A: On your arrival at the Juliana Int'l Airport you can walk up to our rental booth located in the arrival lounge and our agent will escort you to the shuttle service from Air port to the main office at the Airport Road. (About 2 minutes drive from the airport)

(The rental Booth is temporarily not available till the Completion of the Airport renevations, However our Rental Agent is waiting for you at the arrival area and the shuttle service is available)

Q: Where do I return my car?
A: At the time of returning the car we will provide shuttle service back to the airport. If your flight is prior to the opening of our office (7.00 a.m.) you can make arrangements to leave the car at the office, airport or hotel - which ever location is convenient to you.

Q: How can I reach you if I have a problem or even an emergency?
A: Our telephone service lines will respond to your emergency calls 27 X 7 and provide on the spot road side assistance in the case of breakdown or accidents. We want to ensure that you have a relaxing and stress free vacation.

Q: How do we find our way on the island?
A: We will provide you accurate guidance, information (detailed maps, magazines, brochures, etc.) with regard to local activities and happening on the island and to your local destinations.

Q: From what other locations can I rent an Empress car?
A: If required we will deliver the Car to your Hotel or Villa. We are very flexible in providing our transportation solutions and you can expect expeditious service from our well trained and friendly employees here at Empress.

Q: What is the condition of the car?
A: We take great pride in our well maintained fleet of cARS. All our Cars are clean and equipped with air conditioning, automatic transmission, seat belts, spare tire and tools.

Q: What is the procedure for taking a car from Empress?
A: In order to avoid any misunderstandings or disputes with regard to accidents and damages when returning the car, we kindly request your personal attention to the inspection sheet that you are required to sign at the time of accepting the car. Kindly inspect the car personally for damages with the rental agent and ensure all the damages are marked on the diagram (if available) in the inspection form. (You may also take a vedio from your phone when accepting the car)

Q: Are there any other charges apart from the rental charge?
A: There are no hidden charges when you rent a car from Empress. The total charges include Surcharge of 20% and Tax 5%.
